Gretchen

She does not ask the world for permission to be seen. She arrives whole.
In Gretchen, strength is expressed through stillness. Her face is calm, balanced between softness and resolve, while the vibrant flower resting near her eye blooms like a symbol of grace that has survived every season meant to diminish it.
The split tones across her form speak to duality. Vulnerability and power. Silence and expression. History and becoming. Behind her, layers of blue move like memory and spirit intertwined, giving the portrait the feeling of both dream and truth.
Her gaze reaches beyond appearance. It asks us to look deeper, beyond surface, beyond expectation, into the quiet dignity that lives within.
To live with Gretchen is to be reminded that beauty is not fragility.
It is presence. It is endurance. It is the courage to remain radiant in a world that often forgets how to see clearly.
About the Artist
Thomas begins the creation of his masterpieces with a blank black canvas, bringing instant depth and contrast to the art. Using white crayon or pencil, he sketches out what he sees in his mind's eye, what has been given to him in a dream or by the spirit of God. His inspirations come from all around him, from music and movement to life stories and current events. There is a magic behind the journey each piece takes from conception to completion, a journey that manifests itself at the final destination of the purchaser's wall. Layering elements of fabric, paper, and metal, Thomas infuses a variety of textures to match the intricate lines of his creations.
